Why I like Midnight Country:
The DJ is a real person in real time that you can call in and talk to just like he is your best friend.
Woody cares about his listeners.
Woody plays vintage, classic and just plain good county music, nothing wild or obnoxious like you hear on some of today's so called country stations.
If Woody plays it …..you know it's going to be good.
When I am listening I often think about calling in a request, but then I think I don't really know what I would request that would be any better than what Woody is playing right now. Guess I ,(all of us) ought to call in more often because I believe it reassures Woody that we are listening.

My Favorite Artists:
That is a tough question because there are so many that I enjoy. I really like Marty Robbins. But I ask myself….. If I could only listen to one artist for the rest of my life who would it be. I would have to choose Ray Price or Patsy Cline and to get it down to which one of them….. a very very tough decision again. If I had to choose. ….I would just draw straws.

My Favorite Songs:
There are so many I like it's hard to pick a favorite. Let's just pretend that I could have only one CD with only 10 songs on it but I could choose the songs. What would they be:
1. "For The Good Times" Ray Price
2. "Big Iron" Marty Robbins
3. "Faded Love" Pasty Cline
4. "Heartaches By the Number" Ray Price
5. "I Fall to Pieces" Patsy Cline
6. "Your Cheatin Heart" Hank Williams, SENIOR
7. "Fallen Leaves" Grandpa Jones
8. "Fifteen Years Ago" Conway Twitty
9. "Cattle Call" Eddie Arnold
10. "Great Speckled Bird" Roy Accuff
And many more

What Makes Me Unique:
I don't know if it is unique but I have a hearing disorder called, tinnitus, which is a ringing sound in my ears.. Sorta sounds like a bunch of locust buzzing all the time. The Doc's can't do anything to make it go away. During the day it is not much of a problem as I am always listening to the radio or other normal sounds that kind of block out the ringing.

But at night when I go to bed it becomes a real annoyance, so I have to mask the ringing sound. I do this by putting on my headphones and listen to the radio, every night I go to sleep listening to the radio. It's not bad at all because I really like music, only problem is there are less and less radio stations playing the kind of music I like, vintage, classic country.

So I was channel surfing one night and came across The Great Midnight Country Radio Show on 89.5 FM with Woody Adkins. What a blessing, now on Sunday evening I go to bed listening to the "High Lonesome Sound" kind of dozing off a little, but it never fails….. When Woody comes on, he wakes me up and I listen for an hour or so then doze off and on until my alarm goes off at 4:30. Other nights through the week I listen to KFAL-AM, or Eddie Stubbs on WSM-AM and I am usually fast a sleep before midnight. But not on Sunday night...That's how good the Great Midnight Country Radio Show is Folks!
